The click of a seatbelt, a train whistle and the whir of a soft-serve machine become the rhythm of Disney’s newest ad. Sounds of Disney sets those familiar noises to the melody of Steamboat Willie while moving between Disney destinations and the local businesses that supply them.
Four suppliers appear through everyday Disney moments
The companies are not named. Instead, each one is represented by something guests can recognize:
- A bakery: A guest eats a muffin. The business has supplied cakes, baked goods and mixes to Disney parks and resorts for more than 20 years.
- A dairy and soft-serve supplier: A machine fills a cup with soft serve. The supplier has worked with Walt Disney World since the resort opened in 1971.
- A family-owned specialty produce farm: A Cast Member chops vegetables. The farm has supplied fruits and vegetables to Walt Disney World for more than 20 years.
- A linen supplier: A Cast Member straightens a pillowcase. The company has supplied Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line for more than 20 years.
Disney Experiences says it works with thousands of businesses across all 50 states. The ad uses these four categories to show how that network reaches into meals, hotel rooms and other parts of a day at a Disney destination.
The soundtrack starts with the work itself
The sounds do most of the explaining: kitchen equipment, tools, transportation and park machinery fall into the same melody. The businesses remain unnamed, and Disney did not provide sales figures or other business results for them.
