Two people familiar with the project told Knight Edge Media that Lucasfilm is circling Watts for Episode X. The choice could still change, and Lucasfilm could not be reached for comment.
Watts co-created Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and directed episodes of the Disney+ series. His film credits include the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy.
Star Wars: Episode X does not have a release date. Lucasfilm has not announced a director for the movie.
