EQT is preparing to sell its controlling stake in Parques Reunidos, according to a Sept. 25 Reuters dispatch. The dispatch attributes the report to Spanish newspaper Expansión and unnamed market sources.
The reported development concerns preparations for a possible sale. Parques Reunidos manages dozens of theme parks, zoos, and water parks across Europe, including Parque Warner Madrid.
EQT owns 51% of the company. Corporación Financiera Alba and Belgian investment firm Groupe Bruxelles Lambert hold 25% and 23%, respectively.
EQT did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Parques Reunidos said it does not comment on shareholder matters or potential transactions.
