Universal Film has crossed $5 billion at the global box office in 2026, making it the first studio to reach that mark this year.
The studio announced the milestone Sept. 25. Its worldwide total includes $1.788 billion from domestic theaters and $3.218 billion internationally.
This is Universal’s third calendar year above $5 billion, following 2015 and 2017. Three of the five movies to earn more than $1 billion worldwide this year were distributed by Universal: The Odyssey, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael.
