Universal Studios Japan and U-NEXT will begin a strategic partnership on Thursday, Oct. 1. The agreement brings the Japanese streaming service into the park's corporate marketing program.

The companies plan to develop joint marketing, U-NEXT member benefits, video content and live-event tie-ins. Those projects will roll out gradually; each individual benefit still lacks a start date.

Universal+, a new service within U-NEXT, also starts Oct. 1. The companies want to connect at-home viewing on U-NEXT with visits to Universal Studios Japan.

U-NEXT will sponsor the park's Cinema 4-D Theater. Separate initiatives using the theater are planned. Dates and formats remain unspecified. The venue is also set to host the returning Sailor Moon: The Miracle 4-D — Moon Palace Deluxe beginning Dec. 2.
