The Walt Disney Archives is bringing Capturing Life, Creating Character: The Art of Live-Action Reference to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History on November 14. The exhibition runs through February 14, 2027.

The exhibition looks at the real people, props and sets Disney animators studied while building movement and expressions for animated characters. Visitors will see photographs, documents, objects and videos from the Archives, along with interactive pieces, photo opportunities and an audio guide.

One hands-on display uses toy dolls to show how spinning and running change body movement, hair and fabric. Other displays place finished movie scenes beside their real-world references.

Fort Worth is the exhibition’s second museum stop and its first in Texas. It will fill the museum’s upstairs Havener Gallery and is included with museum admission or membership.
