Aurora Park at Geauga Lake will hold its grand opening Sunday, October 25, bringing the first phase of the new municipal park to the former amusement park property.

The opening event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at 1100 Squires Road in Aurora, Ohio. A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Visitors will be able to see the new welcome plaza, restored ticket and gatehouse pavilions, and renovated Sunset Pier. Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the event.

The property includes land formerly occupied by SeaWorld Ohio and Wildwater Kingdom. The October opening covers the municipal park’s first phase; it does not reopen the former amusement rides.
