Sam Nivola says working with Connie Britton on Phony helped him understand how his character fits into the larger story.
During an October 20 interview on Good Morning America, Nivola called the Hulu mystery one of his first major lead roles. He said working opposite Britton gave him the chance to have detailed conversations about the part.
Those talks covered acting, story and the role his character plays in it. Nivola said he learned a great deal from Britton and that the two quickly got along.
Phony premiered October 20 on Hulu on Disney+. Nivola plays a teenager who begins to suspect his mother, played by Britton, has been replaced by an impostor.
