Thirty-eight LJM Maritime Academy cadets recently toured Disney Destiny, stepping into the engine room and onto the bridge for a close look at careers that keep a cruise ship moving.
The cadets met the ship’s Engineering Officer before touring the engine room. On the bridge, they learned about ship navigation and steering.
The visit ended with a surprise appearance by Captain Mickey Mouse. Disney Cruise Line published details of the tour on October 22, though it did not provide the date of the cadets’ visit.
Disney Cruise Line also supports scholarships and summer programming with LJM Maritime Academy. The ship tour gave cadets a firsthand look at maritime careers and shipboard operations.
