A newly published Disney Enterprises patent application describes a flying theater ride built around a passenger cabin that rotates away from a loading floor and moves through several positions.

US 2026/0335777 A1 is titled Flying Theater Ride. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published the application on October 29, 2026. Disney filed it on April 25, 2025.

A Cabin That Rotates Away From the Loading Floor

The application describes a passenger cabin that moves between a loading position and several additional positions. An actuator would rotate the cabin, while a linkage would move it farther into one of those positions.

The cover drawing shows rows of seats on a platform above the ride machinery. A person icon stands beside the seats for scale. The listed inventors are James Durand and Stephen Brooks Rowe.

The Application Does Not Announce a Disney Attraction

This is a published application, not a granted patent or a construction announcement. The document does not name a Disney park, attraction theme, project site, opening date, or plan to build the ride.
