Maurer Rides has introduced the Spike PM360, an electric passenger transport system with a cabin that stays level as the track climbs, drops or turns overhead.
The cabin hangs from a 360-degree pivot, compensating for the track’s angle while passengers remain upright. That lets designers combine horizontal, steep, vertical and overhead sections in one route.
Each vehicle carries its own drive and brake
The PM360 uses Maurer’s Spike rack-and-pinion drive. Each vehicle has its own electric drive and brake, so the track does not need separate propulsion or braking hardware. The system also recovers energy while braking.
Possible layouts range from resort shuttles and urban connections to standalone attractions whose track becomes part of the architecture. The PM360 is available for project inquiries. Maurer has not named a launch customer, location or opening date.
