Frozen 3 songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are about five songs into work on the 2027 sequel, Disney Animation chief creative officer Jared Bush said in a new interview.
Bush told Collider's Steve Weintraub at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival that the songwriting team was working on one of the movie's most emotional songs as they spoke.
His estimate describes where the pair is in the writing process. It does not mean five songs are finished or locked for the final film.
The song count offers a concrete marker of how far the music work has moved. Disney has not said how many songs Frozen 3 will include or which numbers will remain in the finished movie.
Frozen 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on Nov. 24, 2027. Song titles and a soundtrack release date remain unannounced.
