Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix will require guests ages 16 and younger to visit with a chaperone age 21 or older starting Sunday, June 14.

The Glendale, Arizona water park announced the rule Saturday afternoon, one day before the policy takes effect. The official park account directed guests to review the park's chaperone policy before visiting.

Six Flags links the chaperone policy from the Hurricane Harbor Phoenix homepage and park-info menu. Beginning June 14, guests 16 and younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old while visiting the park.

The change lands during the water park's early summer operating stretch, when weekend visits are a major part of the season. Hurricane Harbor Phoenix sells single-day tickets and memberships through the official Six Flags site.

The new Phoenix rule follows other recent regional-park chaperone stories, including an all-day Kennywood policy on June 6 and ongoing chaperone rules at several Six Flags parks.
