Six Flags Discovery Kingdom did not open Saturday, June 13, after an unexpected power outage affected the Vallejo, California park.

The park said the issue was being resolved and that it would provide an update on Sunday operations when more information was available. Tickets dated June 13 will be honored on a future valid operating day during the 2026 season.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that PG&E's outage map listed third-party damage and an estimated 8 p.m. restoration time Saturday morning. The utility also said no public safety power shutoffs were planned for the day.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Closure Details

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom was scheduled to operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday before the outage closure, according to the Chronicle. The park has not yet announced whether Sunday hours will change.

The closure follows a busy run of regional-park operating stories this week, including a brush fire below X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain and a SkyScreamer rescue at Six Flags St. Louis.
