Two new Carousel of Progress permit filings name Icarus Exhibits and ThemeWorks for set-element installation at Magic Kingdom.
WDW News Today reported both Orange County Comptroller document records Wednesday. The notices list Walt Disney Imagineering at 1205 Monorail Way, the Carousel of Progress address, with both filings expiring in one year.
The new filings point to show-set work rather than the structural steel language that surfaced earlier this month. CrowdLevels covered the June 15 structural permit, which named Southeastern Construction & Maintenance as contractor for general construction.
Disney plans to close Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress on July 6, 2026. The attraction is expected to reopen in 2027 with new show scenes and a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic figure.
