The Dallas Morning News reported that Tormenta Rampaging Run is now scheduled to open July 9 at Six Flags Over Texas, giving the Arlington park a new date for its 309-foot giga dive coaster.

Six Flags had planned to open the ride June 26 before pausing grand-opening plans while commissioning and testing continued.

Tormenta Gets July 9 Opening Date

Tormenta Rampaging Run anchors Rancho de la Tormenta in the park's Mexico and Spain area. The coaster is listed with a 309-foot height, an 87 mph top speed, a 285-foot first drop at 95 degrees, and 4,199 feet of track.

The listed rider height range is 48 inches minimum and 78 inches maximum.

Six Flags paused the opening plan on June 22 after the commissioning process took longer than expected. The new July 9 date gives the coaster another public target after more than two weeks of testing and schedule changes.
