Disney told BlogMickey that a guest's personal phone charger caused the small fire inside Magic Kingdom's "it's a small world" on July 1.
The new detail points away from the attraction system. Cast Members used a fire extinguisher inside the ride, and no guest or Cast Member injuries were reported.
The confirmation follows a guest TikTok from Coach Bragg that showed smoke and fire-extinguisher residue inside the ride. CrowdLevels recorded "it's a small world" down from 10:30 a.m. to 12:55 p.m. EDT on July 1.
Small World Operating Today
CrowdLevels' current Magic Kingdom data showed "it's a small world" operating with a 15-minute posted wait at 2 p.m. EDT on July 2. The July 1 downtime remains the latest downtime event in CrowdLevels' 365-day feed for the attraction.
The original July 1 video story is still available for the first timeline of the smoke report, including the TikTok timestamp and CrowdLevels downtime match.
