Shanghai Disneyland delayed its Sunday, July 12 opening until noon as Typhoon Bavi brought strong wind and rain to eastern China.

The park operated from noon to 9:30 p.m., while Disneytown ran from noon to 10 p.m. Wishing Star Park remained closed for the day. Shanghai Disney Resort warned that some attractions and entertainment could be unavailable or modified.

Guests with unused July 12 park tickets can request a refund or date change through the original seller, provided the tickets were not used for admission. Disney automatically refunded Early Park Entry passes and returned the benefit to Diamond Annual Passholders who had reserved it.

Typhoon Bavi weakened to a tropical storm after making landfall Sunday, but continued to bring heavy rain and powerful winds. The Associated Press reported that hundreds of flights were canceled at Shanghai's two airports.
