Walt Disney Imagineering added scenic contractor Mecca Productions to the Carousel of Progress overhaul at Magic Kingdom.
BlogMickey reported the new Notice of Commencement on July 14. The filing lists general construction at the attraction's 1205 Monorail Way address.
Mecca Productions handles design, fabrication and installation for themed entertainment projects. The company joins Southeastern Construction & Maintenance, Lo-Temp Engineering, Elite AV Systems, Icarus Exhibits and ThemeWorks on permits tied to the current project.
The attraction closed July 6. Disney plans to move its timeline forward with new scenes and a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic figure, with a reopening expected in 2027.
