Universal still lists summer 2026, so the late-year target is not yet park-confirmed.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift's target opening has moved to the end of 2026 while Universal works to reduce coaster noise, according to FOX 11 Los Angeles' original report. Universal Studios Hollywood has not announced a delay, and its attraction page still lists summer 2026.

FOX 11 interviewed Toluca Lake residents who said screams from passenger testing carried across Lakeside Golf Club and into nearby homes. Engineers are adding sound walls and a gravel track bed, while vehicle programming turns riders away from the neighborhood during louder sections.

A late-year opening would remove Hollywood Drift from most or all of Halloween Horror Nights, which runs September 3 through November 1. Guests planning a fall trip should wait for a new date from Universal before counting on the coaster.

Employee previews began June 29, but Universal never set a public opening date.
