A Heat Advisory covers Orange County from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT Monday, July 27, with heat index values up to 109 across the advisory area.
The advisory also covers Volusia, northern Brevard, Lake and Seminole counties. Orange County includes Universal Orlando Resort and portions of Walt Disney World. Osceola County, which covers other parts of Walt Disney World, is not included.
Hot temperatures and high humidity can cause heat illness. The safety guidance calls for water, air-conditioned breaks, less time in direct sun and strenuous activity early or late in the day. Children and pets should never be left in unattended vehicles.
Scattered thunderstorms are also expected across much of east central Florida during the afternoon. Guests should monitor park apps and local weather alerts during outdoor portions of the day.
