Truth to Power: A Luke Cage Marvel Crime Novel is now scheduled for October 13, 2026. The hardcover remains available for preorder at $28.99.
The original December 2025 announcement gave the book a July 28 release date. The change came without a stated reason.
The current catalogs agree on the new date and price, but not the length: 304 pages at Disney Books and 320 pages at Penguin Random House. The initial details called it a 400-page book.
Luke Cage Heads to Rural Virginia
S.A. Cosby's novel sends Luke Cage from New York to rural Virginia. Advanced cybernetics have reached low-level criminals, and Cage is hired to investigate a factory that makes medical devices. His cousin, who visited the plant first, is found dead before Cage arrives.
The mystery puts Cage against a conspiracy spreading through the town of Majestic. Jessica Jones remains in New York while he follows the case south.
Luke Cage gained superhuman strength and nearly unbreakable skin after an experiment in prison. The longtime Harlem hero began as a paid Hero for Hire and later worked with Iron Fist. This novel uses that street-level detective side of the character rather than adapting a specific comic story.
The Third Marvel Crime Novel
Truth to Power follows Lisa Jewell's Jessica Jones novel Breaking the Dark and Alex Segura's Daredevil novel Enemy of My Enemy. The three books share a Marvel crime-fiction setting, but each can be read on its own.
