Sign Points to September 10 Opening
A September 2 report from BlogMickey says the sign gives September 10 as the opening date. A separate September 2 WDW News Today report says the new entrance is expected to connect to the northern-most roundabout near an overflow and Cast Member parking lot.
That connection remains an expectation, not a confirmed Disney operating instruction. The two reports agree that the sign does not explain the precise change, so drivers should follow posted directions as the roadway project continues.
Grand Floridian Roundabout Is Carrying Traffic

The new circle connects the resort entrance with the rebuilt road corridor. Temporary connectors remain part of the broader construction pattern while crews continue work on World Drive North.
Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Administrator Stephanie Kopelousos announced the August 10 traffic shift during the district's July 24 board meeting. The meeting details were reported by BlogMickey after its in-person coverage.
August 10 Shift Moved Traffic to New Lanes
Both directions of guest traffic moved onto the new southbound lanes between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the Grand Floridian entrance. That shift cleared the existing roadway for northbound-lane construction.
- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will keep access through a temporary connector driveway.
- Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will use another temporary connector.
- The Grand Floridian wedding pavilion will remain reachable through its own temporary driveway.
Drivers should follow the posted signs through the construction zone. The current configuration remains part of an active project, and the district's schedule carries the broader work into late 2027.
World Drive North Project Includes Three Roundabouts
District project records cover a rebuilt Floridian Way, a World Drive extension and three roundabouts between Magic Kingdom and the resort corridor.
The work has already changed local driving routes. Seven Seas Drive stopped connecting through to Floridian Way on July 13, sending drivers for the main Polynesian campus and Island Tower toward different approaches.
