A person who was infectious with measles visited Universal Studios Hollywood from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 26, according to an August 5 notice from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
The county said people who were at the park during that window may have been exposed. The last day to monitor for symptoms is August 16, which is 21 days after the visit.
What county health officials advise
People who were at Universal Studios Hollywood during the listed hours should confirm their protection against measles and monitor for fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes, and a rash. Those who develop symptoms should stay home and call a health care provider before visiting a medical facility, the county said.
Public Health advises people who are pregnant, immunocompromised, caring for an infant under 12 months, or unsure of their immunization status to contact a health care provider about possible exposure and next steps.
The department is investigating other places the infectious visitor may have visited. Universal Studios Hollywood was the only public location named in the August 5 notice.
