Super Troopers 3 opens in theaters Friday, August 7, bringing Broken Lizard's Vermont highway patrol back to the screen 25 years after the original film.

Jay Chandrasekhar directs and returns as Thorny alongside Kevin Heffernan as Farva, Steve Lemme as Mac, Paul Soter as Foster and Erik Stolhanske as Rabbit. Brian Cox is also back as Captain O'Hagan.

A wedding and a drug ring

Farva's engagement to Thorny's sister puts the troopers in the middle of a wedding dispute. They also have a new drug ring to crack, because apparently one problem at a time would be too tidy.

The cast adds Chace Crawford, Hannah Simone, Nat Faxon, Andrew Dismukes, Iqbal Theba and Sakina Jaffrey. Broken Lizard wrote the film, with Chandrasekhar directing the group again.

Broken Lizard returns to its first hit

Broken Lizard formed at Colgate University before the first Super Troopers reached theaters in 2001. The sequel followed in 2018 after a crowdfunding campaign helped get it made.

The third film keeps the same five troopers at the center. The uniforms, mustaches and deeply questionable law-enforcement methods have survived the full quarter century.
