Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift opened to the public September 16 at Universal Studios Hollywood. The park confirmed the opening in a September 16 announcement.
The Upper Lot coaster has four launches along 4,100 feet of track. Its cars rotate 360 degrees to create a drifting sensation, and the ride reaches speeds of up to 72 mph. The track crosses above and below the park’s Starway escalators.
The cars are modeled after a Dodge Charger, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline GT-R and Toyota Supra from the Fast & Furious films. A section of track passes through a transparent enclosure visible from the queue. Guests must put loose belongings in complimentary lockers and pass through metal detection before boarding.
Universal announced the September 16 opening date on August 31. Its updated ride guide also confirms the coaster is open to the public.
