Construction walls now block the full Frontierland boardwalk at Magic Kingdom, closing the route between Liberty Square and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as work continues on Piston Peak National Park.
WDW News Today reported the change on September 2 after photographing the area. About half of the boardwalk had been closed since early July, leaving a small section near Westward Ho accessible for the past few weeks. That remaining section is now behind the construction walls.
What the Closure Changes
The walls run from Liberty Square to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This update covers the pedestrian boardwalk; attraction operations are outside its scope. Guests crossing that side of Frontierland should follow current park signage and cast-member directions.
How It Relates to Piston Peak
Piston Peak is Disney's planned Cars-themed land beyond Frontierland. The project includes Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along, with a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and geysers.
The concept map is project context and offers no reopening date for the path. The public project materials reviewed leave the construction schedule open.
