Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will use all-new kitchen equipment and a revised pizza recipe when it replaces PizzeRizzo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Recipe testing is already underway for the Monstropolis restaurant.

The equipment and testing details come from BlogMickey’s September 11 press-event report. Chefs are paying particular attention to cooking the bottom of the crust, with the new equipment helping them work toward a better pizza.

A new kitchen for the PizzeRizzo replacement

Archie’s is planned as a quick-service restaurant in the former PizzeRizzo building. Along with the pizza recipe, the cooking equipment is part of the planned change.

Cast Members are also testing recipes for Harryhausen’s, the other Monstropolis restaurant. Specific menu items were not shared at the event.

When will Archie’s open?

There is no exact opening date for Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza yet. Parts of Monstropolis are scheduled to welcome guests in 2027 while work continues on the door coaster.

The restaurant takes its name from Archie, Fear Tech’s six-legged mascot in Monsters University. Next door, the Monsters University Alumni Club will give diners a place to eat among displays celebrating the school’s clubs and legendary scarers.

For now, the kitchen work offers an early look at what is being developed. The finished pizza and full menu are still to come.
