More than 350 people attended a Sept. 30 meeting at Universal Studios Hollywood about noise from Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. Neighbors had to RSVP, and the meeting was closed to the press, according to Deadline.
The meeting took place on Stage 7. Deadline reported that attendees saw slides promising a “commitment to the community” and saying that every concern reaches senior leadership and informs planning. Recordings were not permitted.
Deadline interviewed attendees after the meeting. One resident described the discussion as turning “hostile,” and security was present.
Universal Studios Hollywood’s official opening release confirms Hollywood Drift opened Sept. 16. The outdoor coaster sits above the park’s Upper Lot and reaches 72 mph, but Universal’s release does not discuss the Sept. 30 meeting.
