Bob Iger says his role with the Los Angeles Lakers is still undecided, even as retirement has made his days quieter and his life smaller.

The former Disney CEO discussed both changes with Robin Roberts in a Good Morning America interview that aired Wednesday, October 21. Iger stepped down as Disney CEO in March.

Iger has not settled on a Lakers role

Iger and Josh Kushner reached a deal to buy the Lakers in August. Asked what comes next, Iger said his role with the team remains to be determined.

He told Roberts that sports can bring people together for shared experiences and called the Lakers an incredible brand.

Retirement brings a quieter pace

Iger said retirement feels different, with quieter days and a smaller life. He also looked back on his Disney tenure, including the company’s growth and the condition in which he left it to his successor.

In another part of the interview, Iger said handing Disney to his successor in a healthy state ranked among his proudest accomplishments.
