Universal Kids Resort opened July 1, 2026, in Frisco, Texas. The park has seven compact lands built for young children, plus water play, character encounters, family rides, shows, sensory gardens, and a 300-room hotel at the entrance.
Most first-time families should buy one day. The annual pass becomes worth checking when a local family expects at least three visits and can use enough dates outside the blockout periods. The parking version can pay for its $35 launch-price difference after two visits by car because regular parking currently costs $20 plus tax.
Choose your ticket and plan the day

Children younger than 2 enter free. Prices vary by date, so compare the actual calendar before treating the starting rate as your trip price.
The two-day base ticket costs $19 more than the one-day starting price. Pick it when your group needs a long hotel break, wants every playground, or plans to repeat the water areas. One day remains the better buy when the second day would be a short stop before the drive home.
The 1.5-day ticket is limited to a Universal Kids Resort vacation package. It starts at 2 p.m. on the first day and includes a full second day. You cannot buy that product by itself.
The annual pass is a local-family product
Universal currently offers a Silver Annual Pass and a Silver Annual Pass with Parking. Each pass lasts one year from its first use and must be activated within one year of purchase. Using the parking benefit activates the parking version even if you have not entered the park yet.
When sales opened, the base pass cost $129.99 plus tax and the parking version cost $164.99 plus tax. Prices and inventory can change, so use the current purchase page for the final amount. At those launch prices, the base pass cost less than three one-day tickets at the $54.99 starting rate.
Silver passholders cannot enter on blockout dates, and the park closes completely on some additional dates. Universal can change the schedule, so compare it with your school calendar. A cheap per-visit calculation does not help if the pass excludes the Saturdays and holiday periods you planned to use.
The current Silver benefits are simple. The base pass covers admission. The parking version adds regular theme-park parking. Neither pass currently includes food, merchandise, or other passholder discounts.
One parking pass can cover the family car
Regular theme-park parking costs $20 plus tax. Premium parking and RV or bus parking each cost $30 plus tax. Prices are seasonal and may vary by day.
The Silver Annual Pass with Parking includes regular self-parking at the theme park. It does not include premium parking, hotel parking, RV or bus parking, or any parking benefit outside the designated annual-pass lanes. One parking pass can serve the vehicle, so a family does not need the parking version for every person.
Hotel parking is separate. Overnight guests currently pay $20 plus tax per night and use their room key for in-and-out access. Theme-park parking cannot be used for an overnight hotel stay.
The seven lands have very different jobs
Jurassic World Adventure Camp is the closest thing to a thrill-ride anchor. Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster sends families searching for Bumpy, while Mr. DNA's Double Helix Spin adds spinning and Pteranodrop lifts riders above the park. Start here if your child talks about rides first and characters second.
SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom can eat a big chunk of the day. Jellyfish Fields Jamboree, Barnacle Bus, Bobbing Barrels, and Mrs. Puff's Boating School sit alongside water play and character meetings. Pack a change of clothes. Wet socks are a rotten souvenir.
Shrek's Swamp mixes Shrek & Fiona's Happily Ogre After with two play areas, including a splash zone. Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club adds a water battle, Bello Bay Cruise, and Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby.
TrollsFest has Rhonda's TrollsFest Express, Hair in the Clouds, an indoor dance party, and stage entertainment. Puss in Boots Del Mar is gentler, with Swings Over Del Mar and a puppet show. Isle of Curiosity handles the front gate, Gabby's Cat-Tastic Dance Party, food, and the main resort store.
A practical one-day route
- Arrive near opening and head to Jurassic World Adventure Camp if Cretaceous Coaster or Pteranodrop matters to your child.
- Move to SpongeBob before the group is tired. Decide whether water play happens now or after lunch.
- Use Puss in Boots or the Trolls indoor dance party as a lower-key reset.
- Choose Shrek or Minions based on which characters your child actually wants. You do not need to force every land into equal time.
- Finish at Isle of Curiosity for Gabby, cupcakes, and shopping near the exit.
Let your child pick two must-do rides and one character before arrival. A rigid checklist is especially annoying here because play areas do not run on neat 20-minute blocks.
Water play changes the packing list
Several lands invite kids to splash, spray, or soak one another. Bring quick-dry clothes, spare socks, and a small bag for wet items. If your child hates surprise spray, steer carefully through Minions and SpongeBob instead of discovering that problem after lunch.
Shade deserves its own plan. After a guest complained about limited shade, Universal said the Frisco park has more than 1,500 permanent shaded seats and about 1.8 million square feet of shaded area. That does not mean every queue, path, or play spot will feel comfortable in Texas heat. Use indoor shows and dining for planned cooling breaks.
The hotel earns its price when your child needs a break
Universal Kids Resort Hotel guests get one hour of Early Park Admission at select lands and attractions, a dedicated entrance, and free delivery of park purchases to the hotel. Park admission is separate.
Standard, Deluxe, and Signature Queen rooms sleep up to five with a queen bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed. Family suites sleep up to six with a separate king bedroom, queen pullout sofa, twin-over-twin bunk bed, and eating area.
Book it when a short walk back for a nap solves a real problem. Stay elsewhere when you already have a good Frisco rate and expect one straightforward park day. Early Admission gives you an extra hour at select lands and attractions, but valid admission is still required.
