Universal Kids Resort officially opened July 1 in Frisco, Texas, giving Universal Destinations & Experiences its first regional theme park built around families with young children.
The opening-day photos show confetti, SpongeBob SquarePants, Shrek, Minions, Trolls, and young guests gathered around the Universal Kids Resort entrance.
Universal Kids Resort Opening Day
The Frisco park has seven lands: DreamWorks' Shrek's Swamp, DreamWorks' Puss in Boots Del Mar, Illumination's Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, DreamWorks' TrollsFest, Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, and Isle of Curiosity.
A 300-room Universal Kids Resort Hotel sits at the entrance. Universal is also selling dated tickets, hotel packages, and annual passes for the new resort.

Tickets, Hotel, and Early Access
One-day general admission starts at $54.99 plus tax on select dates. Two-day general admission starts at $73.99, and children younger than 2 enter free.
Bundles that include a Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup start at $69.99 for one day and $101.99 for two days. The ticket calendar opened alongside hotel packages and Universal Kids Resort annual passes.
The public opening follows a June 24-29 paid preview-ticket window and a local preview for nearly 400 children from Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County.
