Disney set May 26, 2028 for Lilo & Stitch 2 and March 31, 2028 for its live-action Tangled movie during Friday night's D23 Entertainment Showcase. The presentation also added theatrical, streaming and live-event plans across 2027.
Lilo & Stitch 2 Begins Production in Hawaiʻi This Year
Lilo & Stitch 2 will begin production in Hawaiʻi later in 2026. Chris Sanders, who co-created and directed Disney's 2002 animated film and voices Stitch, will direct the sequel to the 2025 live-action movie.
Kathryn Hahn will play Mother Gothel in Tangled. Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim are filming in Spain as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Diego Luna plays a new character named Hawthorne, with Caitríona Balfe as Queen Arianna and Elliot Cowan as King Frederic.
Ice Age: Boiling Point Adds Jurassic Scrat
Ice Age: Boiling Point opens February 5, 2027. The new adventure sends Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Buck into the Lost World with Scrat, Baby Scrat and a newly revealed prehistoric cousin named Jurassic Scrat.
Romy & Michele 2 will debut on Hulu in 2027. Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow return, joined by Alan Cumming, Camryn Manheim, Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Huebel, Breckin Meyer, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Janeane Garofalo. Tim Federle directs.
The Greatest Showman Opens in the West End in Spring 2027
Disney Theatrical Group will bring The Greatest Showman to London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane in spring 2027 after its Bristol run. Oliver Tompsett, Samantha Barks, Malinda Parris, Ben Joyce and Vajèn van den Bosch are set for the West End production.
Mundo Pixar will begin its first United States tour in 2027. The immersive attraction has previously toured the United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Belgium, Seoul and Tokyo. Disney has not announced the U.S. cities or dates.
Disney's showcase also included a new Kingdom Hearts anime series. The project will tell an original story rather than adapt one game directly.
